EMOR

Shalom, Shalom. We commence this DEVAR TORAH by focusing upon the interpretation of the title of the PARASHAT. The title of the PARASHAT is EMOR. The term EMOR is an IVRI (Hebrew) transliteration that is indicative of the word “SAY.” It points to the LAWS that were given to a KOHEN that were dictated to the NAVI MOSHE from HASHEM. The ATTENTION that we will give place to in the SIDRAH is found in the following passage, it is written, “HaShem said to Moses: Say to the KOHANIM, the sons of AARON, and tell them: Each of you shall not contaminate himself to a dead person among his people; except for the relative who is closet to him, to his mother and to his father, to his son, to his daughter, and to his brother; and to his virgin sister who is close to him, who has not been wed to a man; to her shall he contaminate himself. A husband among his people shall not contaminate himself to one who desecrates him.” (Leviticus 21:1-4) In this passage of TORAH, the KOHEN is instructed not to come into contact with a dead person with the exception of those who may be described as CLOSE RELATIVES. The contact with a DEAD PERSON is disclosed as that which CAUSES CONTAMINATION. The question is, What is implied by TORAH’S use of the WORD CONTAMINATION.

To understand TORAH’S use of the WORD CONTAMINATION when coming into CONTACT with the DEAD commences with the CONCEPT that the Jewish People are PURPOSED to maintain A CONSCIOUS ONENESS with ECHAD. It is written,” You have seen what I did to Egypt, and that I have borne you on the wings of eagles and brought you to ME. And now, if you hearken well to My voice and observe My covenant, you shall be to Me the most beloved treasure of all peoples for Mine is the entire world. You shall be to Me a kingdom of ministers (PRIESTS) and a holy nation…” (Exodus 19:4-6a) In this revelation, it is disclosed that ECHAD liberated BENEI YISRAEL from the bondage of MITZRAYIM (Egypt) for the purpose of bringing us TO HIMSELF. Without a doubt, from the IMPERSONAL PERSPECTIVE of G-d, this implies an ASCENSION into PURE SOUL CONSCIOUSNESS. It further discloses that the ASCENSION into PURE SOUL CONSCIOUSNESS is maintained by hearing and adhering to the instructions found in TORAH referred to as the BRIT (COVENANT). The maintenance of PURE SOUL CONSCIOUSNESS positions the Jewish People in the FULFILLMENT of our PURPOSE of being a LIGHT in which the nations of OLAM will be able to bless themselves in. The SIN of the GOLDEN CALF gave rise to the PURPOSE of the Jewish People being placed upon the KOHANIM of the TRIBE of LEVI.

Since the PURPOSE of maintaining PURE SOUL CONSCIOUSNESS was placed on the KOHANIM, to descend from this High Level of CONSCIOUS would make them TAMEI (CONTAMINATED). Coming into contact with a DEAD PERSON challenges the MAINTENANCE of PURE SOUL CONSCIOUSNESS by APPEARANCE. The DEAD PERSON is not DEAD, but rather has changed FORM. KING SOLOMON wrote, “Before the silver cord snaps, and the golden bowl is shattered and the pitcher is broken at the fountain, and the wheel is smashed at the pit. Thus the dust returns to the ground as it was, and the spirit returns to God Who gave it.” (Ecclesiastes 12:6-8) It is evident from this passage that from G-d’s perspective, the DEAD PERSON is not DEAD but with G-d. The APPEARANCE of the DEAD BODY WARS against this EMET (truth) creating a DESCENSION in CONSCIOUSNESS. The DESCENSION is ERRONEOUS based upon an ERROR IN PERCEPTION. To avoid the ERROR IN PERCEPTION, the KOHANIM were instructed to not come into CONTACT with a DEAD PERSON. Without a doubt, the CONTAMINATION is one of CONSCIOUSNESS. Yea, the KOHANIM are destined to MAINTAIN PURE SOULS CONSCIOUSNESS not only for themselves but that ALL might ASCEND out of the STATE of SUFFERING.
